I didn't start my journey in the Tech industry but rather fell into an opportunity that combined a few of my passions. I started out by studying Communication and was intrigued with how others communicated ideas/stories to others. I always had a knack for understanding the structure of an argument/speech and learned how ideas could be best presented. I began getting into Web Development as I learned it combined my love for Communication, while also incorporating technical skills to advanced my career. I currently work in the Marketing Department at COCC, and I'm excited to grow my skillset to help create something impactful for the college.
In my Web Development 1 class, my goal is to develop a solid understanding of proper HTML semantics and learn when and how to use each element appropriately. I want to build a strong foundation in CSS, gaining the ability to effectively style and manipulate various elements on a webpage. Creating responsive and accessible web pages is also a key priority, as I want all users to have a seamless and enjoyable experience across different devices and screen sizes. By the end of the course, I aim to confidently apply these skills to build well-structured, user-friendly websites.
Over the next few weeks, We will be learning basic HTML; how to use proper HTML semantics and a simple layout of a web page. We will also learn incorporate Cascading stylesheets to give our web pages flair, and how different elements can be used to manipulate a web page. Finally, we will learn some basic design principals by breaking down a published website to understand how different design elements are used.

I've been playing board games over the last 15 years, so I've developed a unique palate of different styles and game design. I want to give recommendations to newer individuals to expand their gaming horizons and learn that board games can be more than just Monopoly.
